DP William Ruto is a friend of the people. The son of a peasant has reaped praises for uniting the warring Kerio Valley Communities.

The communities living in the Kerio Valley signed a historic peace deal, effectively bringing an end to perennial deadly conflicts among them. The peace pact brought together communities from Elgeyo-Marakwet, West Pokot and Baringo Counties.
Ruto appealed to residents in the three counties to embrace peace, and give the Government a chance to turnaround the region.
Peace has come to Kerio Valley thanks to the constructive engagement of leaders, the Church and communities, who have agreed to live in harmony. This sets the stage for unity, transformation and sustainable development. pic.twitter.com/RNMXpwFK4Y

This has really shaped his future in politics especially within Kerio Valley. Many people have endorsed his presidency for leading the warring communities to Canaan.

Senator Murkomen also preached the same gospel of peace pushing for exchange programmes within the communities in order to find the lost love among them.
“Our primary focus is to bring everyone together. These reconciliation efforts would make us benefit from each other, and therefore benefit from our synegies,” noted the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator.
We have vowed to work together as leaders without any regard to our political affiliations to ensure that Kerio Valley becomes the Valley of Peace. Peace process is apolitical and peace is for all of us. So help us God ! pic.twitter.com/WVIc1wNu9i
