World football governing body, FIFA released the final list of contenders for the Best Men’s Player award on Wednesday. The award is usually presented every year to the world’s best men’s player.

Liverpool trio; Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Vigil Van Djik have been included in the list but their supporters are apparently not satisfied. They are questioning the exclusion of their firebrand goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who played a vital role in their success in the last season.

The Reds had arguably the best moment in the 2018-19 season where they finished second in the Premier League with 97 points, one point behind Manchester City. They also went against all odds and lifted the Champions League trophy since 2005.

For that very reason, most of their players were expected to dominate the list including the Brazilian keeper Becker. And fans seek to understand why he is not in the list;

Alisson signed for Liverpool in July 2018 for an initial fee of โ‚ฌ62.5 million (ยฃ56m), which could rise to โ‚ฌ72 million (ยฃ66.8 million); a world-record fee for a goalkeeper at the time.

In his first season at the club, the 26-year-old received the Premier League Golden Glove for most clean sheets in the league and kept another clean sheet as Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to win the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final.
