There are many different business ethical issues faced in the workplace; however, one topic that is prevalent is the issue of spending time online on personal activities. It is common knowledge for one to do their work during their time at work, but it is also common for one to use their phone during this time.
Though this is a constant pattern that exists in the workplace, there is a debate on seeing really how much time spent on their phones and personal activities is really too much. Even though we might not accept it, phones have become so prevalent in our lives. We are still obsessed with and dependent on their phones.
Kenyans have expressed their fury after several companies initiated the “No Phones” policy at work. Something that sounds absurd to the new generation who are glued to their smartphones 24/7.
With that in mind, would you accept a job that doesn’t allow you to use your phone throughout working hours? Below were reactions from netizens.
Being unemployed will make your phone your bestfriend, if you daily work has nothing connected to your phone then why struggle so hard to tweet from your bedroom that you can’t do it? Get the job first and I tell you you won’t consider quitting if you’re told you can’t use it.

There are many workplaces where phones are not allowed for various reasons.
Of course. I work in the hospitality industry & we are not allowed to use phones while on duty. In fact , we drop our phones at d security and have them back at the end of the shift.

In this part of the world, some jobs won’t allow the use of phones during working hours with ‘not that big’ take-home, and you’ll definitely find people doing it. #halfbreadisbetterthannone.

When I worked in a Technical Support call center, we were not allowed to use phones on the floor. You put all personal items away in a locker.
