Does Financial Fair Play [FFP] exist in Kenya, or is anyone even interested in the amount of money flying around during the transfer windows?
The Kenyan Premier League clubs are currently in a transfer period and the business of buying and selling of players is booming in the country as it is in many other countries worldwide.
Wazito FC, who were promoted to the KPL after lifting the National Super League title, have signed many players this transfer period, and this has raised the concerns of introducing a Financial Fair Play rule.
As much it makes me happy seeing money being spend in KPL, does FFP exist in Kenya?

Good question. Probably we will see them stuck at the @FKF_NSL next season. I will talk about this once the @TheOfficialKPL resumes

Have they spent that much money (if any) tho? Seems to me they are getting players on free transfers….I could be wrong tho. https://t.co/gbYydYfKj9

Free transfers here are not necessarily cheap especially for top players, players and agents love the so called sign on fees

As it stands, the Camp Toyoyo-based side have signed a total of 10 players. Here are the players signed so far;
Elvis Rupia, Abouba Sibomana, Karim Nizigiyimana, Derrick Otanga, Joshua Otieno, Kelvin Omondi, Pistone Mutamba, Gad Mathews, Bernard Ochieng, and Bixente Otieno.
Drawing an example from the European transfer, there is always a regulation that prevents clubs from spending more than they can earn in the pursuit of success, throwing them in a financial constraint that eventually thwarts their long-term survival.
Last year, FK Vardar of Macedonia and Bulgarian side Levski Sofia were found culpable of breaching the FFP rule and as a form of punishment, they were blocked from participating in the Europa League and Champions League for which they qualify in the next two seasons.
In KPL it is still survival of the fittest and questions we are left asking is, should the Football Kenya Federation introduce a Financial Fair Play rule? Give your thoughts.
