Gor Mahia’s Deputy Secretary Deputy General Ronald Ngala has confirmed Harun Shakava’s mutual decision to leave the club. Ngala, however, maintained that no formal paperwork regarding the exit has been done adding that Gor Mahia will not let their kipper leave for free.
Shakava is desperate for a move away from the record Kenya Premier League champions and communicated his desire to test himself in a foreign league after conquering Kenyan Football with Gor Mahia. He is rumored to heading to Zambia where he will link up with another Gor Mahia captain and defender Musa Mohammed at Nkana FC.
“We are in mutual agreement with Haron Shakava. He requested to be released to pursue his career in a foreign league. But no pen work has been done since he will not go for free because he still has a contract with us”

Should a deal materialize, Shakava will become the third high profile player to depart the club following the earlier exit of midfielder Francis Kahata and talismanic striker Jacques Tuyisenge. The two joined Simba SC Tanzania and Petro Atletico from Angola respectively.
Earlier On Monday, K’Ogallo confirmed that head Coach Harun Shakava has been granted leave to go back to his home country in Turkey where he will deal with a family issue.
Head coach Hassan Oktay has been accorded a few days off duty to attend to personal family matters back at his native home in Turkey.
