Embattled Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu has been dealt a big blow as his ‘worst political enemy’ Deputy Dr. James Nyoro is set to take his position.
This has come following court’s ruling that barred him from accessing his office pending hearing and determination of a corruption case he is implicated in.
The court’s decision came barely days after Justice Mumbi Ngugi ruled that all governors charged with corruption must step aside just like other civil officers to pave way for further investigations.
No sooner had the two been elected than they fell out with Nyoro accusing his boss of sidelining him from the running of the county’s affairs. He said the governor was running a one-man show and even the input of the county executive committee was highly regarded.
The bad blood between the two Kiambu leaders has seen Nyoro has severally made major expositions on his boss with the latest accusing him of presiding over a corrupt and an incompetent administration that has been milking the county treasury dry.
The ruling has set social media on fire as it attracted mixed reactions on Nyoro being the right choice to replace Waititu who cannot see each other an eye.
A section of Kenyans started early celebrations while citing optimism in the new Kiambu’s sudden change of guard.
Here is what Kenyans have to say on Waititu’s replacement;
Congratulations James Nyoro on your new role as the Governor of Kiambu County until Ferdinand Waititu case is heard and determined.
Baba Yao will go history lane as the shortest serving Governor in Kenya thanks to Judge Mumbi Ngugi. Pewa mbili alafu tuma paybill number. pic.twitter.com/rUhieDrqta

CJ Maraga did recommendable job by promoting Justice Mumbi Ngugi. It's based on her ruling that Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been barred from reporting to his office. Infact, he should hand over to Dr Nyoro until he's cleared. This should be the precedent in graft cases pic.twitter.com/HPqgpGMjhm

A section of other Kenyans further faulted the Judiciary for playing political roles in ensuring that the embattled Waititu was successfully lost his Kiambu seat.
Deputy Governor Nyoro, Kuambu county is just but an opportunist. Governor and Deputy governor should both be implicated in future… Constitution should be rectified..

The well-scripted plans to hand Kiambu to Dr Nyoro(Deputy Governor) looks like it is succeeding. Guess the next target? not Sonko, He has been singing the same song with the other side.

In the name of Nyoro, Kiambu County has an able governor. But he can only succeed by first dismantling Waititu's corruption networks. Corruption viciously fights back.

Being a Kiambu county voter myself, I'd like Waititu entirely released (even if guilty) because God knows what that guy Nyoro will do to the county if he were to assume the governor's position. pic.twitter.com/hYv5AzJNml
