Frank Lampard drops hint on who will start Chelsea’s first EPL match against Manchester United

New Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is still contemplating on which players he will start in the Blues first Premier League match of the season against Manchester United.

Chelsea will host the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge in what will be Lampard’s first competitive match as Chelsea manager. The club record goalscorer saw his team beat Championship side Reading 4-3 in their latest pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Midfielder Ross Barkley impressed and scored from a wonderful freekick while other youngsters looked decent too.

Quizzed on who he will start against Manchester United in two week’s time, Frank Lampard revealed that he is putting the final touches but said he will wait for Chelsea’s next two Preseason matches before making the decision.

Mason Mount’s performance from midfield had some Chelsea fans in dreamland.

With Chelsea currently serving a transfer ban, Lampard will have to rely on youngsters for next season. The club also sold their best player, Eden Hazard to Real Madrid which makes the manager’s job even harder.
