Wacha vitisho bana! Kenyans react to Uhuru’s order of E-passport extension

The Kenyan government had previously announced that the old passports would be invalid beginning September 1 this year, causing a scramble and last-minute rush for the new e-passports ahead of the deadline. On Thursday, however, the President pushed the deadline to next year, this, therefore, means Kenyans can continue using the old generation passports until March 2020.

Kenyans have now been urged to take advantage of the extension and apply for the new e-passports being distributed countrywide. The process to acquire the new passports had turned into a nightmare for many Kenyans who were forced to spend long hours on the endless queues at Nyayo House in Nairobi.

Some of us are still waiting for the deadline you know the Kenyan way. Was it best that he pushed the deadline? Don’t you think Kenyans shall become reluctant?
