Transfer Round UP: Arsenal close to 2 deals as Man United chase Ivory Coast winger

The new football season is 17 days away from kickoff and teams are busy putting in their final touches as far as preparations for the new season are concerned.

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Hoffenheim striker Joelinton for a club-record fee, believed to be in the region of £40m. The 22 year old Brazilian has been handed the number 9 shirt and has signed a 6-year deal. He becomes the first arrival fo a Newcastle side that has lost influential manager Rafa Benitez.

Meanwhile, Arsenal has ended the pursuit of Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney after the Scottish giants rejected two bids for the injured player. Arsenal is now looking for other alternatives in the left-back position.

The Gunners are on the verge of completing two deals this week. Real Madrid attacking midfielder Dani Ceballos is set to link up with Unai Emery’s team on a long season loan while French defender Willliam Saliba will sign a five-year contract with the Gunners before spending next season on loan with the same club.

Manchester United are reported to be in the market for Ivory Coast international winger Nicholas Pepe and Sergej Milinković-Savić. The Red Devils have made two signings this window in Crystal Palace right-back Wan Bissaka and Swansea winger Daniel James.

In Spain, Welsh winger Gareth Bale is on the verge of sealing a move away from Real Madrid with a record-breaking deal with a Chinese Super League club believed to be on the cards.

The former Spurs winger is belied to have fallen out with French manager Zinedine Zidane who is desperate to get him out of the club.
