Chama Cha Mashinani incoming Secretary-General and mogul Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop alias BUZEKI has added his voice on the ongoing Jubilee wrangles saying the country’s ruling Jubilee Party is on its deathbed.

Speaking on Friday in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County, BUZEKI who defected from Jubilee to Isaac Ruto’s CCM party in April 2019, said the endless squabbles and infighting within Jubilee fuelled by differences on 2022 succession politics were wrecking the party and disrupting service delivery in the country.

“Jubilee Party officials and elected leaders should shelve their differences, tolerate each other and concentrate their efforts and focus on their mandate to govern the country,” he said.

Weighing in on the referendum push, BUZEKI said referendum “is not the need of the moment.” He said there were myriad of problems facing Wananchi that required to be given priority, and leaders should focus instead on bringing development and solving those challenges.

BUZEKI who is eyeing the Uasin Gishu County gubernatorial seat in 2022 further decried the state of mismanagement of public affairs in the country. He said the government has failed its citizens as exemplified especially by rampant problems in the agriculture sector which is the mainstay of the economy.

Citing the maize crisis in the country, BUZEKI blamed the government for failing to deal with cartels who he said are engaging in underhand tactics to undermine local production, create shortages real or imagined and open the floodgates for imports.

He blamed elected leaders from maize producing counties for failure to resolve the maize crisis saying that most leaders have remained tight-lipped even as farmers continue to suffer, which suggests collusion with cartels.

“Whenever questions are raised like in the maize crisis, folks are quick to invoke 2022 succession politics, 2022 will come and go but we need to address problems affecting Wananchi in the here and now,” he said.

Buzeki was lauded by maize farmers for making available quality fertilizer during the planting season early this year after the government failed to avail the commodity on time.

He expressed the need for the government to lower the cost of farm inputs to reduce the cost of production. According to BUZEKI, fertilizer should be subsidized to enable farmers to purchase the vital commodity at Sh1000.

On joining CCM, BUZEKI said those who were plotting evil schemes against him to be denied Jubilee Party ticket in the event he sought the party ticket for Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in 2022, are in for a rude shock.

He said as the CCM Secretary-General he has secured a direct ticket to contest the county top job in 2022 and is ready to battle anyone on the platform of policies and programs that benefit residents.

He urged members of the public to shun political detractors who he said rely on propaganda, mudslinging, divisive politics, hatred and tribalism.
