Arsenal’s win over Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup on Thursday was impressive but of importance was the performances from the youngsters. Unai Emery fielded a young side who stood up to the challenge and won against the German Champions.
With Arsenal operating on a restricted budget this transfer window, Unai Emery will be forced to field some of the academy graduates next season. Below, we look at 3 Arsenal youth products who could make an impact next season.
Eddie Nketiah
The Striker bagged the winner against the Bundesliga Champions despite being on the pitch for only 9 minutes. Last season, even though he got limited game time, he impressed every time he played and scored his first Premier League goal in the last day of the season against Burnley.
With Arsenal set to play in the Europa League for the third season in a row next season, Unai Emery may opt for Nketiah to lead the line which would afford his two superstar strikers valuable rest.
Joe Willock
The Arsenal academy Graduate bossed the midfield against Bayern Munich. His rage of passing is top class and has the physicality needed to prosper in the Premier League.
With Aaron Ramsey having left Emirates for Juventus this summer. Arsenal is in dire need of a goalscoring central midfielder and Joe Willock proved he can be that player with his 3 goals last season from limited game time.
Reiss Nelson
Probably the best of the bunch. The winger has it all, pace, trickery and an eye for goal. Nelson spent the whole of last season on loan to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
He scored 7 goals for them and will be a key feature for an Arsenal side that desperately needs goal scoring wide men.
