United to make a fresh and concrete bid for Portugal star

Manchester United are reportedly set to make a fresh bid for Sporting Lisbon’s attacking Bruno Fernandes whom the side has been pleased as the Portuguese Lampard.

But to nab the man into the club in a prospected club-overhaul the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to spend well over £50m to bring the Portuguese star to Old Trafford according to reports.

It is expected that the Red Devils will be tabling an offer for the free-scoring midfielder before the transfer deadline passes next month despite rejections from all approaches from the club for their prized asset.

Solskjaer is eager to reinforce the middle of the park, and he is only interested in additions rather than big-money departures at the moment.

The manager was also keen netting Newcastle starlet Sean Longstaff, but his £50m valuation has put off the Norwegian which is why he is instead expected to push on to try and conclude a move for Fernandes.

The ace bagged 32 goals for Sporting last season and grabbed 18 assists in his 53 matches with his exploits securing him a place in the record books.

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard found the net 27 times for the Blues back in 2010 the highest tally for a midfielder in Europe but that figure was smashed by Fernandes hiking up his transfer fee in the process.

Bruno began his career in Italy with Novara before joining Udinese in 2013 and shone during his three years at the club until he switched to fellow Serie A outfit Sampdoria.
