Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo finally exchanged vows in a colourful Gikuyu traditional wedding commonly known as ngurario. The much awaited ceremony was held at Kiamugumo Primary School and was attended by top leaders in the country led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga.
The was characterised by pomp and colour went down on Saturday, July 13, and saw majority of guests clad in traditional Gikuyu attire. There were many notable guests at the function including Sports CS Amina Mohamed, Transport CS James Macharia, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho and senators James Orengo (Siaya ) and his Narok counterpart Ladema Ole Kina. It was indeed a state wedding, a big one for Kirinyaga County.
