De Ligt is gone…Just like that

Italian giants, Juventus have already signed Ajax wonder-kid, Matthijs de Ligt and all that remains is just but an official confirmation, according to reports in Italy.

The teenager became the most sought after youngster in the world after a huge breakthrough season with Ajax especially during the UEFA Champions League and he has attracted heavy interest from Juventus, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Liverpool.

At the end of it all, it is Juventus who have lured the star to win the race for the 19-year-old Holland centre back’s signature and according to Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport, it is only the official announcement which is missing.

The report also claims that Ajax believes the deal is done and it is only a matter of time before De Ligt signs on the dotted line for the Serie A giants.

In addition to that, La Gazzetta Dello Sport report that De Ligt will become the highest-paid defender in Italy as he gets ready to seal his £63million move.

According to the newspaper also states that Cristiano Ronaldo played a role in tempting De Ligt to come to Turin, where he will be getting ready to feature alongside centre-back stalwarts Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

The Dutchman will not travel to Ajax’s pre-season camp in Austria as he looks to finalise his big-money move and will rather join his new club in their pre-season tour

Meanwhile, Juventus manager formerly from Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri is hopeful of completing the deal before his side head on their pre-season tour of Asia.

De Ligt shone last season for Ajax, captaining his side to the Eredivisie title and the Champions League semi-finals.
