Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has for a long time been reading from two different scripts with his counterpart Deputy President William Ruto. Despite serving under Former President Daniel Moi for over 10 years, William Ruto has never found favours from Daniel Moi’s son thanks to his ambitions for the 2022 top seat.

When President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto were both mentioned in the 2009 ICC cases, they were forced by circumstances to come together. In order to deliver themselves from the ICC hooks, a political plan was hatched. Mwai Kibaki’s second term was coming to an end in 2013 and there was a need for the two to form the next government.

The truce between Uhuru and Ruto suddenly rose and it was agreed that Uhuru was to run for the Presidency with William Ruto as the deputy. Fate was on their way and after the 2013 general elections, the two emerged victorious forming Jubilee government.

With the two holding power, ICC menace staring them was humbled. In 2016, the song suddenly changed to ‘Kumi Tena, Zangu Kumi, Za William Kumi’…2017 came and went, Uhuru through Ruto got the second chance to serve again.

With Uhuru serving his second term, reality dawned on him, He had to please his Political master Daniel Moi by moulding Gideon at the same time keeping his promise to support Ruto in 2022. To make his term smooth, he also had to curb the ‘noisy hornbill’ He opened doors for opposition leader Raila Odinga whose presence inside the house posed some threats for Ruto’s succession plans.

Suddenly, William Ruto’s stay in the house was ‘no longer needed’. Gideon Moi and Raila Odinga saw an opportunity to romance Uhuru making Ruto’s presence in the house so irrelevant. With no option, Ruto decided to walk the 2022 path alone with little hopes for endorsement.

His ‘Exit’ from the house gave Raila and Gideon the much needed space to organize for 2022. Gideon Moi’s silent troops in the North Rift led by Tiaty MP William Kamket suddenly ‘grew’ some wings and started attacking William Ruto from center,Left and Right.

With Uhuru’s loud Silence over Ruto’s pleas to iron out things in Jubilee party, Gideon’s brigade tremendously grew some confidence calling Ruto names and even daring him to resign.

On Wednesday evening, Tiaty MP Kamket while appearing on a local tv interview, dared Deputy President William Ruto to resign from the government. Kamket said that should William Ruto resign from his position, Baringo senator Gideon Moi was ready to replace him.

This statement proved to many that Kamket’s continuous verbal attacks on William Ruto were meant to frustrate him leading to his resignation from the DP’s post hence creating a position for his party leader Gideon Moi.

“Mheshimiwa Gideon Moi is the natural replacement for William Ruto,” he said.

Although Kamket did not indicate if there has been any consultation between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Gideon Moi concerning the matter, his sentiments clearly proved that there were possible discussions of the same having in mind that President Uhuru is so keen at molding Gideon before he leaves in 2022.

According to the controversial MP, who is almost the only one who routinely accompanies the Kanu chairman, Jubilee was founded on a pact between two communities; the Kikuyu and the Kalenjin.

“The Jubilee covenant between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto is a covenant written in blood and it is based on communities,” Kamket said.He claimed that Jubilee had served its purpose and that time has come for it to be discarded.

He asked President Kenyatta to take his handshake with Raila Odinga a step further and make it a coalition. If Kamket’s sentiments are anything to go by, then the country should prepare for a Raila, Gideon Moi ticket vs Ruto in 2022.
