Breaking: Kenyan winger set to join South African side

Bandari FC winger Abdallah Hassan is set to join South African side, Maritzburg United, the Dockers coach Bernard Mwalala has told Opera News.

Hassan has been in fine form for the Mombasa based Dockers for the last two seasons and was being tracked by Gor Mahia, Wazito and AFC Leopards ahead of 2019/20 season.

He was named by in Harambee Stars’ preliminary CHAN qualifiers squad but it now appears that the Posta Rangers youth team prodigy will not be part of the team after Bandari struck an agreement with United over his transfer.

“Hassan is heading to South Africa. The two clubs have agreed on everything and I can say it’s a done deal. There are a few contractual issues that Maritzburg have to complete before the transfer is fully completed. But he will be part of their pre-season squad,”Mwalala told Opera News.

Mwalala went on to heap praise on the speedster who has been key to the Dockers exemplary performance for the last two seasons.

“As his coach I am happy for him. He is a very disciplined player who gives you 100% in each and every game. He is a hardworking and I firmly believe that he will succeed in South Africa. I wish him all the best,” he added.

At Maritzburg, Hassan will link up with Harambee Stars defender Brian Mandela who turns out for the side.
