TV station re-brands into Swahili

The much hyped TV47 owned by businessman Simon Gicharu, the founder of Mt. Kenya University has re-launched into Swahili
station.

The station made headline a month ago when it pouched top journalists from Citizen, TV and
KTN to boost in its market rating.

Among those who joined the station included Mohamed Ali also known as Jicho Pevu Eugene
Anangwe from Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) and CNBC to lead its young vibrant team
as acting MD while Godfrey Omanga who previously worked with k24 will lead the digital team.

Speaking During the; launch at Laico Regency, Mr Anangwe expressed optimism that the station
is aimed for greatness in informing the society with rich content stories.

The station will be dedicated to telling untold stories in the corporate sector and their involvement in
youth and has tapped The station has been very active both at you Tube, GOtv channel 813 and
channel 80 on both Bamba TV and StarTimes.

On his part, Godfrey Amanga states that station mission is to inform, educate as well as educating
noting that the Swahili language has been neglected by many players and the station will play a
big role by restoring it back.

“Imagine there is no Swahili station? We are the only one in the market, what will happen to
those who don’t understand English?,”Amanga said.

On top of re-launching the explosive Jicho Pevu TV series with reports stating that Moha has
already submitted two brand new episodes of the highly rated investigative show).

Recently the Nation Media Group during the board meeting announced plan to re-launch their
Swahili station QTV back to the market.

A month ago,KTN news lost four journalists to TV47 among them Abubakar Abdullahi.
