Kenyans ‘Defend’ Drunk Molo MP who was chased out of Meeting

Kenyans were On Thursday treated to a rare video of Molo MP Kuria Kimani who turned up at a meeting in his own constituency while looking intoxicated.

Kimani, a youthful MP who had attended a public meeting (baraza) at Elburgon in Molo Constituency meant to discuss the increased sale and consumption of illicit brew shocked many when he arrived looking very drunk contrary to the expectations of his constituents who had attended the meeting hoping to hear their leader provide a way forward for the youths who were already getting lost in the drinking dens.

Upon invitation to address the residents by Molo Deputy County Commissioner David Wanyonyi, Kimani staggered to the podium causing a lot of uproar from the crowd.

Security personnel were forced to intervene whisking him away after a section of angry residents began shouting him down and threatening to beat him up. After the unfortunate occurrence, a number of social media sites expressed their disappointments for the first time member of parliament.

While a section of Kenyans took issues with the drunken legislator, a good number of Social media users stood in solidarity with the drunken MP some saying there was a need for Kimani to ‘demonstrate’ in reality the effects of alcohol to the community. Kimani later in a phone interview with a local media house said the narrative about his odd behaviour was false and that it was being advanced by his political opponents who were so keen on soiling his name.
