Jalang’o reveals why Bob Collymore bought him his first green suit

Comedian Jalang’o is not only known for his witty jokes but his green suit which he pairs with his trademark cheetah print blouse.

The blouse has seen him through thick and thin, from his days performing at the national theatre before going to Churchill, and later graduating to bigger gigs locally and abroad.

While the history to his shirt is public knowledge, the MC and host has revealed the history of the green suit which no one knew.

As the country mourns the passing of a great leader, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, Jalang’o has revealed that it was Bob’s idea and money that funded his first ever green suit. According to Bob, apart from the signature blouse, the boss believed that the comic would look better in a suit and even went ahead and purchased his first for him.

The cheetah printed shirt was my trade mark until one day Bob walked back stage at the Eldoret CSR activity and asked me why everyone dressed up and had good costumes apart from me, I told him it’s because of my character which he then said dont you think you could look better in a suit? I just laughed but then he asked @56authentique who was dressing us that time to get me a green suit..I liked it and as they say the rest is history!

No one has ever questioned why he chose green but Jalang’o reveals that it’s not just a colour but Safaricom Green.

I have since made the green suit my signature look without telling anyone that’s its Safaricom green!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I actually asked him what if I was to host any other event whose colour is not green? “Just tell them it’s your look 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have made several other green suits because of change in size🤣🤣 but I have kept the first one for the memories!! I wear the green suit in most events mostly when the client colour is green!! Thank you Bob. RIP.

DID YOU KNOW THAT ITS BOB COLLYMORE WHO ADVISED AND GOT ME MY FIRST GREEN SUIT? So on the 3rd day of March 2018 a video of me Swimming in River Turkwel in Turkana surfaced online and went viral. A few people found it funny, Majority were extremely offended. I apologized for the Video. A few corporates that were in line to Sponsor my inaugural Stadium tour which was in two weeks time were all over sudden not returning my calls. At around 12:46 PM Bob Collymore sent me the text above. He then called me and asked me to see him in the morning, I did and after along conversation about so many things he stood up suddenly and Said “Eric I have a meeting, I will Sponsor the Stadium tour forward me the proposal NOW!” This came as a complete surprise since we barely discussed Sponsorship. The Stadium tour is currently on the 19th County Sponsored by @safaricomplc_
