Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Celtic left-back, Keiran Tierney. The Gunners have seen two earlier bids for the Scotland international turned down by the Celtic. Reports, however, claim that Arsenal’s third bid in the region of 22 million pounds has been accepted with the player expected to join this week.
Unai Emery would also consider sending Carl Jenkinson to Glasgow in order to push the deal over the line. Reports have claimed the defender returned to the UK yesterday to complete his move.
But Celtic manager Neil Lennon said Tierney, 22, had left the club’s training camp in Austria to continue rehab following last month’s double hernia surgery. The Bhoys star, however, is expected to be fit in time for the start of the next Premier League season.
Arsenal are also believed to be in the market for a central defender, a winger, and a central midfielder. Crystal Palace and Ivory Coast winger Wilfred Zaha is high on the list for Unai Emery.
