Senator Ledama threatens to sue Uhuru for disregarding senate rule

President Uhuru Kenyatta has allover sudden sucked into the supremacy battle that has been brewing between the Members of the National Assembly and The Members of the Senate.

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of taking the MPs side in the tough bruising battle between the two houses.

President Uhuru has found himself at the helm of the scuffle after signing the appropriation bill into law without the division of revenue act.

Ledama has bashed Uhuru of consuming ill-advise which impelled him to ascend to the appropriation bill without the division of revenue act,which is the core responsibility of the House of Senate.

The senator has threatened to move to court as the President acted above the law in his action of assenting to the Appropriation Bill.

“Kenya is a country where the president is advised to disregard the rule of law by his advisors and he does! By signing the appropriation bill into law without the division of revenue act the president is telling Kenyans is basically saying he is above the law! Court pap!” he said.

The Appropriations Act 2019 that President  Kenyatta assented into law  permits the Government to access public funds for the next financial year which kicks in on Monday, 1st July 2019.

Out of the total sum, the National Government has been allocated Shs 415 billion for development expenditure while Shs 679 billion has been earmarked for recurrent expenditure.

Commissions and Independent Offices have been assigned Shs 6.7 billion and Shs 373 billion for development and recurrent expenditure respectively.

However it is not the first time President Uhuru Kenyatta is getting dragged into supremacy Battle. Majority leaders from both houses, Aden Duale and Kipchumba Murkomen once clashed after the Health Bill was assented too.
