Barely a week after the kidnapping and the kidnapping and killing of Murkomen’s Personal Aid Benson Kiptire in Eldoret town, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator has once again been thrown into mourning after one of the teachers hailing from the same village with the late Benson has reportedly been found murdered a day after being kidnapped on Wednesday.
On Thursday evening, through his Facebook account, Murkomen had pleaded with the kidnappers to spare the life of Mr. Ben Kiptoo, a primary school teacher from Tebe, Kapyego Ward after reports emerged that he had been kidnapped.
I have received disturbing news that Mr.Ben Kiptoo, a teacher from Tebe, Kapyego Ward who is currently teaching Napeki primary school in Trans Nzoia county has been missing from Yesterday 11am and is believed to have been abducted by unknown people. The latest tracking shows he is inside Chepchoina Forest. I am also informed he called a few minutes ago expressing concerns about his life.
If you are involved I really beg you to spare the life of Mwalimu Kiptoo. Have mercy on him for the sake of his wife and children. Please 🙏🙏🙏
But on Friday noon, through his twitter account, the Senator broke the sad news saying the teacher had been found murdered inside Chepchoina forest in the county of Elgeyo Marakwet. Murkomen condole with the victim’s family.
Sadly Mwalimu Ben Kiptoo never made it. He was found dead inside Chepchoina forest.Matter under probe. My condolences to his wife, children & entire family. RIP

Tracking reports had earlier shown that the teacher was being held at the forest, however, what puzzled many is the fact that the kidnappers just like in Benson’s earlier case did not make any demands or revealed why they abducted him.
The recent kidnappings and murder of two who hails from the same locality have left Kapyego ward residents in shock with many reading a political witch hunt in the two killings.
What remains to be unraveled by the detectives is the reason why the two who were considered close to Senator Murkomen were murdered nearly at the same time. It is not yet clear where and how the killed teacher was kidnapped.
Murkomen’s aid Benson Kiptire was abducted while in his shop at Rock Center in Eldoret at around 12 noon on Friday last week and his body found a day later murdered and dumped in a thicket in Kamatira Forest, West Pokot County.
