The Kenya Premier League Transfer window is active and in full swing as preparations for next season gather pace. For the first time in Kenyan history, the football league season will start in August following a directive that was issued last year by the Confederation of African Football(CAF).

After a third consecutive league winning season, Gor Mahia confirmed the signing of Sony Sugar coach Peter Odhiambo. He joins the record Champions as assistant manager to Hassan Oktay. Odhiambo is a direct replacement for Zedekiah Otieno who was appointed as the KCB head coach.

On players, K’Ogallo has promoted three youth team players to the first team. Central defender Alphonse Omija, goalkeeper Caleb Omondi, and striker Samuel Osoo will train and play for the first team from next season. Also joining the club is Midfielder Toby Otieno from Sony Sugar.

The record champions are however expected to lose the services of Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge to Angolan side Petro Atletico while uncertainty remains on the future of attacking midfielder Francis Kahata.

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards elected former winger Dan Shikanda as their new chairman. He will serve at the role 3 years.

Newly promoted Wazito Fc have signed two Sony Sugar players in Striker Derrick Otanga and goalkeeper Kevin Omondi. Wazito earned promotion after winning the National Super League last season. The club is also circling around Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava.

After finishing in second place last season, Bandari Fc has added Danson Chetambe from Zoo Kericho and Sofapaka’s Cliff Kasuti to their ranks. Bernard Mwalala’s side finished with an impressive 64 points last season, only 6 behind eventual champions Gor Mahia.
