Harambee Stars clash with Tanzania at the Africa Cup Of Nations on Thursday is the perfect chance for Sebastian Migne’s team to get the fans on their side once more. After a very poor showing in the first Group C match against Algeria, Stars received a lot of backlash from fans back at home who rued staying up late to watch the match.
The team knows that a repeat of Sunday’s performance will only make the relationship with the Kenyan fans worse than it currently is.

To be fair to Migne and his team, they did create a special bond with fans in the qualifiers especially during the home win to Ghana and the emphatic 3-0 victory against Ethiopia at the Kasarani Stadium. After finally earning qualification in the tournament for the first time in 15 years, the country began to seriously take note of the team.
The belief was crashed by Algeria but luckily for Harambee Stars, they have another chance to restore that trust. The Tanzania match is an East African derby that has already gathered enough hype around it…

It is must-win not only for footballing reasons but also because national and regional pride is at stake. A win definitely lifts the mood in the team and around the country while also eliminating Tanzania out of the tournament.
