AFCON2019: Pessimistic Kenyans smell trouble against Taifa Stars

Harambee Stars will have the last chance of keeping alive their hopes of proceeding past the African Cup of Nation group stages on Thursday when they will face Tanzania in their second group C match. The Kenyan side will head to the match with a lot of pressure as fans at home have remained pessimistic and are rooting for Tanzania to utterly smash them.

Kenya showed a meagre display on Sunday in their battle against Algeria where they were beaten 2-o in a match that seemed to be one-sided. They were overwhelmed entirely by their opponents as they failed to deliver even a shot on target. Algeria also took advantage of their weak defense and got their two goals through Baghdad Bounedjah and Riyad Mahrez.

Tanzanians were equally subdued by their opener opponents Senegal as they also succumbed to a 2-0 defeat after showing a scanty performance that has made them comparable only to Kenya in the ongoing AFCON.

Regarding the statistics, both teams are weak and will be heading for a battle of underdogs and predicting the outcome is a possible tussle. Nonetheless, pessimist Kenyans have given it all for Tanzania and believe that Harambee Stars will go nowhere.

The match between Kenya and Tanzania will be a real determiner on who will improve their chances of qualifying for the next round. After Thursday game, Harambee Stars and Taifa Stars will play Senegal and Algeria on 1 July respectively; their last group stage matches.
