Arsenal’s form last season was a mixed bag. After two opening defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea, the Gunners embarked on an amazing 22 matches unbeaten run that stretched from early September to November. The Gunners, however, lost young defender Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck to season-ending injuries which led to a dip in form.

Matters were made worse when Hector Bellerin injured his knee in January. This resulted in the team collapsing towards the latter stages of the season. Unai Emery’s side lost three games in the space of one week which meant that they lost out on a top 4 spot by a single point.

Hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League were brutally ended with a 4-1 loss in the Europa League final against Chelsea in Baku.  The Gunners have since parted ways with a few players who were simply not good enough last season or failed to agree on new contracts with the club.

The Gunners have been linked with more player exits this summer with the hottest rumor circling around Uruguayan Midfielder Lucas Torreira. The former Sampdoria man is attracting strong interest from Italian giants AC Milan. The 23-year-old is said to be eager for a move away after being uncomfortable with life in England.

Granit Xhaka is another linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan. The Swiss midfielder has been good not far from great in his 3 years with the Gunners. Reports claim that Arsenal could be willing to sell at the right price.

Shkodran Mustafi could also follow Xhaka out of the Emirates with AC Milan interested in signing the World Cup winner. The German has endured a frustrating campaign which saw him concede silly fouls and needless goals.

With Arsenal already in talks to sign Celtic left-back Keiran Tierney, it is expected that Sead Kolasinac could leave. The Left wingback is expected to go back to his former club Schalke 04.
