Government Intervenes on the Long Queues at Nyayo House

The situation at Nyayo House for the last few days has been simply nasty. People were subjected to struggles and pain to wait for the services which most of them ended up not being served.

Perhaps the fear of being locked out as the deadline to acquire new e-passports ahead of the August 31 deadline continued.To avoid the last minute syndrome, Kenya arrived at Nyayo House by 3.30am, fighting the cold of the dawn in a process that has now become a nightmare for thousands of applicants.

However due to numerous uproar from the affected people, the government has decided to act on their cries.
Through a press statement, the Government has boldy stated that no one will be locked out in the registration process. The process of acquiring new e passports is a continuous exercise.

The Immigration department has stated that it can only serve a specific number of people that is why most of them were being told to come back some other days.

The department has also stated that people traveling from different parts of the country contributed to the long ques which were experienced in the last few days.

Moreover, they have started some applicants came with their children who were on Holiday making the queus be much longer.To beat the long Queus the Department of Immigration has opened other stations in Eldoret ,Kisumu ,Embu and Nakuru.

They also have other centers out of the Country including In South Africa, Germany among other centers.
