This comes at a time when Women leaders affiliated to William Ruto’s Tanga-tanga side announced on Monday that they were also going to form a group of 48 elected women leaders dubbed Inua Mama.
Led by Kandara MP Alice Wahome, the women said the group was going to crisscross the country conducting fundraisers to help women form self-help saccos while popularising Dr. Ruto.
The group which will identify themselves with Maroon outfits will play an active role in shaping the outcome of the 2022 William Ruto’s election bid. Inua mama group according to the look of things was created to counter Team Embrace Kenya, an outfit the women deem as an extension of Kieleweke camp which is opposed to William Ruto’s 2022 election campaigns.
According to one of Team William Ruto’s Facebook post, Inua Mama group was specifically intended for those brilliant young women together to consolidate a strong women’s movement in the country that will later be used to vigorously campaign for Dr. Ruto in 2022 General Election.
“Why is this important? You will be organized by a fellow woman. You will be answerable to a fellow woman. Your concerns will be addressed by a fellow woman.” read part of the post.
“We know what those men who occupy mid-level positions in Orange House (and who you reported to) did to some of you. And we don’t want it to happen again. Under Inua Mama, you will be treated as equal political players as the men, never as objects to relieve pressure on the campaign trail” read part of the statement.
The Inua Mama group will now be concentrating to tame both the Embrace team and ODM’s Women League which popularises the political handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Odinga.
With the unveiling of the three women groups; Embrace Kenya group associated with Kieleweke, Inua Mama Group, associated with Tanga-tanga and currently Women League group associated with ODM, 2022 presidential race will now remain a tight race with each group trying to mobilise their followings using the women leaders
