Crystal Asige is a name we can all relate to, ever since Sauti Sol released their hit ‘Extravaganza.’ In the hit song, Crystal features alongside BenSoul, Kaskazini (a Kenyan urban-fusion trio formed by Chris, Ywaya and Israel) and Nviiri. She stood out being the only female signee in the record.
Thursday night was not just ordinary for Crystal, she took to Twitter and let the public know about an alleged driver who wanted to assault her. It must have been scary for her, as well all know about Crystal’s glaucoma condition that has her 80% blind.
In the past years, we have had many Kenyans who have shared their experiences with uncouth Uber drivers. It sad that Crystal happened to be a victim as she was being dropped home.
WARNING: Nissan KCU317X. This Uber driver tried to attack me last night at the end of my trip on the way home from the studio at midnight: DIVON KIMONDO MAIGUA 0721403854. Do not use this driver, or enter this car – to all women, especially with a disability

But netizens didn’t seem to be conviced by the ordeal. Most of their comments were mean, saying they could not ascertain whether she was being genuine of the said allegations.Β Below are a few reactions of how Kenyans felt about Crystal’s move;
But what if you have some evidence? Tutajuaje it’s a plot to bring him down… π€·ββοΈ

It is the accuser interested in half truths, she could have been a bit believable if she had informed that she reported to the police but she seems more in using twitter to rally against the driver.

I’m not vested in solving the matter, I want to aid to seek the services of government officers paid to do that. Defend the lady all you want but the fact remains we may never know what happened unless she is serious about pushing charges.

Tell us why you were attacked.

I have advocated for the simplest of common sense here: reporting to the police when wronged… but she doing the parallel seeking attention and easy validation from people like you who religiously believe stuff from the internet.

“He could have attacked you anywhere along the trip but chose to do it hapo kwako nje” .. yes .. he could also have attacked her at the end of it. It won’t be the first time. “What are you not telling us?” … she isn’t telling you to fuck off. I am though.

Going by this story kimondo seems like the victim and should sue @CrystalAsige for maligning his name and making false accusations

Do you think it’s okay for Kenyans to troll Crystal’s uber driver allegations?
