How much drama have you endured from a house help? Kwanza these local ones? Understanding house managers (let’s just use this) is easy, if you provide plenty of food, clothes and decent pay, there is not a time you will be bored with this employee. Most Nairobi parents would have you cracked up with their house manager tales.

Let’s not even talk about these Ugandan sisters who have come to salvage the situation. Dispelling the notion that most house managers are backward and always so primitive; would seem quite unfair. Some of these ladies outsmart us and to an extent, they even get attached to our husbands. Shame!

Then at the time when you thought everything was rosy; Boom! she packs her bag and comes “Mama Nani, mtoto wangu nmeambiwa ni mgonjwa.”

The most hilarious excuse is that their kid has either fallen ill or had an accident, just something that they know will break you down because in your mind you can only picture yo child falling sick and you are not there for them. This excuse always wins it every time. Below were a few reactions;

Nduthi gang were the first blame
