What motivates you to work? Could t be money or something more than that? We really have this simplistic view of why people work. On the other hand, when you look closely at the way people have to work full time, there is much more at stake than money. There are many factors that condition our motivation at work. Below are a few things that motivate someone:
1. Seeing the fruits of our work can make us more productive
Do you get this excitement whenever you walk into the bank or ATM after your salary has been deposited? That is appreciation token for the work that you did. Do you feel it makes you more productive?
2. The less we appreciate our work, the more money we want to make
Sometimes when you have everything you wanted to achieve you become reluctant and wonder why you should add more. But for those who are not content with their work, they will want to make more and this in itself is a motivation.
3. The greater the difficulty, the greater the pride
For those of you who are hardworking understand this very well. When you recover from something that was stressing you out, and finally push through it, you feel proud. It’s an achievement when you break through anything, it not only gives you a sense of pride, but it also makes you appreciate many things.
4. Knowing that our work helps others increase our unconscious motivation
Has someone ever approached you and appreciated how you do things. How did that feel? Sometimes that little appreciation can spice things up in ways one may have not perceived.
5. Images that convey positive emotions help us to concentrate
Don’t take these positive pages that you see on social media, the impact some people’s lives in extraordinary ways.
6. Positive reinforcement in our skills improves performance
Practice makes perfect, right? We are never born with any skills, we perfect them over time.
7. The promise to help others makes us more likely to follow the rules
We wouldn’t want to advise someone on the way to hack their way to the top while we are doing the contrary.
