Tottenham defender undergoes a successful surgery

Wales and Tottenham defender has undergone groin surgery after delaying it in order for him to play for Wales and he has since given a positive message after the operation.

The left-back was expected to face the knife after his club’s appearance in the Champions League final, having suffered from discomfort throughout the season.

However, he delayed the surgery to appear in Wales’ Euro 2020 qualifiers against Croatia and Hungary earlier this month and the defender has confirmed a successful operation on his groin with a thumbs-up post to Instagram.

He wrote: “Everything went well with my op!”

“Thank you to the incredible hospital staff for making me so comfortable.”Looking forward to spending the summer getting ready for the new season! Thanks for all the kind messages and support.”

Davies also posted a snap of his hospital bed reading, a detailed look into geopolitics and national borders a far cry from the typical books footballers are thought to read.

Competing with Danny Rose for the Tottenham left-back spot, the Welshman made 40 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but things might be different for him following the uncertainty of Rose’s availability in the next season which he ha come out to address.

Davies has also played every minute of his country’s Euro 2020 qualification campaign so far, which was hit by two defeats on the road last week.
