Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has been blasted by Kenyans after claiming that he was supposed to be President Uhuru Kenyatta’s running mate in 2013 polls elections.
Wamalwa who was speaking on Wednesday evening backed Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny on the same where he in February last year had claimed that it took his efforts to convince Uhuru to pick Ruto in place of Wamalwa.

It took a last-minute intervention by the former advisor to Uhuru to convince him to drop the idea since he had planned to travel to Western Kenya the following day to unveil Mr Wamalwa.
According to Kutuny, Uhuru had planned to travel to Bungoma where he was set to unveil Wamalwa as his preferred running mate.
“I personally thwarted the separate arrangements the two leaders had. I convinced Uhuru not to go to Bungoma. I insisted that he needed to have another meeting with Ruto,” the lawmaker said in February.
Wamalwa who now says he is only working on the mandate given to me by the president did not convince a good number of Kenya who has taken to social media to bash him.
