Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is one man who has been under scrutiny since he ascended to his prestigious office at City hall.
Allegations have for a while had it that there is a group of senior government officials in the Office of the President that has been after finishing him.
Sonko, on Wednesday during an interview on JKL accussed Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris of being used by top State House officials called ‘The System’ to provoke him in public.
“She (Esther Passaris) was under instructions from a senior officer in the office of the president to attack me in public… she was paid. Passaris is misleading Kenyans; I do pick her calls. She made allegations against me and I had a right to reply,” said Sonko.
The governor and the County MP are the talk of town after their confrontation during a Madaraka Day event held at Pumwani Hospital on 1st June. Passaris walked out of the event after being ‘insulted’ by the governor. He told her that he is not her husband to be picking calls whenever she wants to.
Sonko’s interview at JKL, ended prematurely, with Jeff Koinange citing editorial and quality control policies as the reason for the termination. But Sonko insists that the media house is one-sided and didn’t want him to respond to raised queries.
Due to standards and quality control here at Royal Media Services Governor it looks like we cannot continue with this interview – @KoinangeJeff
Sonko: Yes because you are one-sided, you are shying away from the real facts #JKLive

Now, self-proclaimed NRM General Miguna Miguna has alleged that it is President Uhuru Kenyatta who called for the termination of Sonko’s interview at JKL. Miguna claims that at the time the interview was taking place, Uhuru was having a ‘good time’ with Passaris
“As the interview was proceeding, Esther Passaris was with Uhuru Kenyatta over the Atlantic Ocean. In other words, the interview was terminated by and for Uhuru Kenyatta. We must liberate Kenya using truth, courage and facts,” Miguna posted on his Twitter account.

Miguna is not the only one who has alleged so, State House employee Dennis Itumbi talks of a ‘System” that once attempted to collide with a State House MC to block Sonko from speaking in a public event.
Itumbi insists that the Governor is not lying about frustrations by some people.
Itujmbi posted, “One day, I was present in a car when this so-called “System” called a State MC to deny Sonko the Microphone in a public event. Governor had to stand up to the official bullies and insist on speaking. He is not lying about frustrations by some people.”
