Do you still remember the famous Arror and Kimwarer Dams? Well, what happened after the scandal! It seems the DCI has gone silent with investigations into the multi-billion scandal in which taxpayers allegedly lost Ksh21 billion.

Rift Valley leaders are now demanding that President Uhuru Kenyatta orders for the dams’ construction work to continue, as they wait for the investigative body to complete investigations.

The leaders are crying that the Rift Valley has been neglected on matters development and want Uhuru to expedite the construction of the dams which are considered the ‘source of life’ in the region.

Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono has accused the government of sidelining the Rift Valley as it launches mega projects in other parts of the country.

“It is like all arms of government are fighting the Rift Valley. At this rate, we might take drastic steps and declare our stand,” Mr Rono told a local Daily.

There was an uproar early this year after news broke that billions of money had been lost in the mega projects. DP William Ruto and other Rift Valley MPs accused the investigative bodies of political witch haunt. Ruto maintained that no money was lost in the scandal despite Treasury CS Henry Rotich stating otherwise.

Rotich and his Devolution counterpart Eugene Wamalwa were summoned by the DCI to record statements over the scandal but there have been no further statements over the same.
