Barcelona star, Lionel Messi recommends the unthinkable on a former teammate

Spanish giants, Barcelona are said to have made a formal approach to re-sign Neymar after their longtime forward Lionel Messi recommended that the Champions sign a former player Neymar who is currently playing for French giants, PSG according to reports.

The Brazilian international forward left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain back in 2017, in a world record-breaking £189million switch, that left mouths talking on the transfer record.

The Catalans attempted to replace Neymar with the signings of Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho from Liverpoolalthoughtheatter looked more of Andres Iniesta replacement, but still, they have fallen short in the attacking front.

Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a transfer to Barcelona in recent months after he announced in a vlog his intentions to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

But Lionel Messi has reportedly told Barcelona to avoid signing the France international and bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp instead.

According to RMC Sport, Barcelona did exactly that this week and approached Paris Saint-Germain about the possibility of re-signing the Brazilian.

But PSG president Nasser bin Ghanim Al-Khelaifi has issued a hands-off warning, telling the Catalan club he is not for sale even with links connecting him with a possible move from the club.

The star forward has endured a start-stop season in France, hampered by injuries and controversies that are likely going to have adverse and negative impacts on his career if he will not face them with caution.

So much so that the world’s most expensive player is no longer considered the top boy at PSG, with his team-mate World-Cup winner Kylian Mbappe stealing his crown almost in every match wherein most cases he has come a the saviour in several occasions.

He’s also failed to perform on the biggest stage of them all the Champions League since his transfer from Barcelona following his long spree of injury for the better part of the ending of the season.

For the past two years, PSG has been dumped out of the competition in the last-16 stage, seeing them fall way short of expectation and were also delayed from clinching the Ligue 1 title after recording poor results in their last matches of the season.
