Ezekiel Mutua lauds Groove Awards Founder for redeeming the Gospel Industry

Kenyan Film Classification Board, Boss Ezekiel Mutua has lauded the Groove Awards Founder Kevin Mulei for reviving the Kenyan Gospel Industry.

Mutua was among the guests who attended the 14 th Groove Awards event which went down on Saturday 1st June.

He recalls that Groove Awards was founded when the lingala craze was sweeping across the country and the region and there seemed like there was no future for Gospel Music.

Mutua added that Piracy was wrecking havock on the industry and it seemed all doom and gloom.

Through the Groove platform, Kevin has nurtured many Gospel artists, lifting many to fame and changing their fortunes.

According to the KFCB Boss, It has not been an easy journey for Kevin and at some point, he almost quit.

Today the Groove Network which runs the Groove Awards is a conglomerate that has created jobs and given hope to many young people.

Ezekiel Mutua noted that the festival is also in line with KFCB’s core mandate of inculcating positive social values among our youth through promotion of clean content.

He also noted that Kenya need more forums like Groove Awards to identify and nurture talent.

During the14th Groove Award Red Carpet event, Mutua spoke a blessing to Kevin Mulei and his wife Janet.

He also acknowledged the contribution made by the Groove Award Founder and congratulated him for being an inspiration  to many.
