The Internet went abuzz yesterday after the Nairobi County boss publicly humiliated Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris during Madaraka Day celebrations at Pumwani Police Grounds on Saturday over a phone call that Sonko Claims she kept on making.
While speaking to the media, Passaris hinted that the tension between them was linked to Sonko’s reluctance to approve her community projects.
Sonko had stated during his speech that the woman rep needed not to call his phone numerous times because they we’re not married to each other.
“Iam not your husband that I should answer to your calls anytime you want. Let us respect one another. Even President Uhuru Kenyatta does not respond to my calls every time,” he said.
This forced the Nairobi Women Rep to walk out of the event with Sonko bidding.
While commenting on the event, Passaris who had attended this year’s groove awards claimed that Sonko was intentionally sabotaging her efforts of uplifting the lives of Nairobians by blocking her initiatives.
“I’ve been running around his office from one person to another to get this letter,” she told our reporter.
Passaris regretted that the governor had resulted in insulting her, claiming not to be her husband yet he knew her spouse very well.
“He said that my projects were good because I shared them with him but it is unfortunate that he had to go that low,” she added.
