How the 2019 groove awards event went down

The groove award 2019 red carpet event went down last evening at the Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi.

The event brought together several gospel musicians as well as other celebrities and entertainment enthusiasts.

Some of the top leaders who graced the event include Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris, Chief Customer Officer at Safaricom Sylvia Mulinge and KFCB Boss Ezekiel Mutua.

The Red Carpet event saw celebrities dress to the occasion giving a colorful touch to the venue.

This year’s  groove awards theme was titled: “Better Together.” The idea behind this theme was to focus on the message of unity in building better relationships, synergies and societies.

It also encourages a spirit of togetherness and highlights how togetherness helps build powerful and stronger bonds.

The event kicked off by performances from several artistes including Moji Short Baba, Amani G,David Wonder, Pitson among other.

The Groove Award ceremony marked as the 14th annual groove award ceremony that aims at celebrating gospel music and shaping culture through positive content and entertainment.

Eunice Njeri stole the show by her exceptional win as Artist of the Year Award and Praise and Worship Song of the Year.

Jabidii topped the winners list by bagging five awards out of his 11 nominations; Reggae/ Ragga Song of the Year, Teens Choice Song of theYear, Collabo of the Year, Dance Style/ Song of the Year and Song of the Year.

Wahu also set a record after her first groove award win with her song Nifanane Nawe- Music Video of The Year.
