Terrorist Arrested after plot to bomb Uhuru thwarted in Narok

Police on Saturday arrested a 22 years old man who is suspected to be a member of the terrorist terror group in Narok County during the celebration of Madaraka day.

Identified as Adan Galhai also known as Urisha Galhai, he was arrested while trying to gain access.

Uhuru among other dignitaries has attended the event.

It’s reported that the suspect was in a company of others who managed to escape.

A police report was seen by Opera news revealed that Galhai, who is suspected to have links with deadly terror group Al Shabaab, was also posing as a security officer.

“He wanted to enter the stadium on Friday and when searched, his National Identity Card and another Identity Card written as National Security were recovered from him.

When he was being questioned about the same he escaped,” the statement reads in part.

Galhai was nabbed on Saturday morning when he went back to the stadium.

However, a middle-aged man who had accompanied him managed to escape.

The officers who are handling the case revealed that he had lied to them that he had spent the night at a nearby hotel.

According to the police statement, Galhai converted to Islam in  2014 and has been living in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
