Oscar Sudi defends Ruto’s attack on Raila, sends Edwin Sifuna to dustbin

Politics almost took centre stage during the 17th National Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel when Deputy President Dr William Ruto jokingly took a swipe at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, stating that Kenya is ready to donate the latter to the United Kingdom, to serve as Prime Minister, since Kenya’s current constitution does not provide for the same.

“And because you have been good to us, your request for a Prime Minister, we have retired one in Kenya, and since the constitution has abolished the position of Prime Minister in Kenya, he may not have it any time soon, we will send you his CV for consideration,” Ruto said in response  to Michael Hastings, the key note speaker at the event.

In a quick rejoinder, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna noted that Raila is not ready to be offered jobs, adding that the DP should first help jobless youths secure employment, before offering to help Raila get a job.

In response to Sifuna’s claims, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi slammed him for responding to Deputy President William Ruto’s joke during the National Prayer breakfast held in Nairobi on Thursday.

According to Sudi, the DP was just joking, and ODM should not have taken his remarks seriously.

“Edwin Sifuna is the biggest liability I have ever seen in this world. How can a whole Secretary General of a “national party” respond to trivial issues like DP’s simple joke?. Raila is my good friend and I don’t wish him to fall so fast like they way am seeing now. It’s clear and evident that Sifuna and ODM have run out of ideas,” Sudi posted on facebook.
