The National Police Service has issued a directive on road clearance to very Important Persons to take place with immediate effect.
This is following a public outcry on persistent inconvenience caused to other motorists by VIP and GK vehicles on public roads and Highways.
Ambulances, fire brigades and vehicles carrying VIPs; The President, The Deputy President, The 1st Lady, The Chief Justice, The Attorney General, Speaker of the National Assembly, Speaker of the senate, The Cabinet Secretaries for Defence, Interior and Coordination of National Government, Finance and Foreign Affairs, The Chief of Defence Forces, Administration Police Service, The National Assembly Majority leader, The senate majority leader, Retired presidents and Retired Prime Minister.
All other vehicles including Government registered vehicles (GK) are expected to follow the normal traffic flow. Any government vehicle found violating regulations especially those overlapping, the drivers shall be arrested and charged in accordance to the law.

Shortly after Kenyans expressed their dissatisfaction in the first list which was released by the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Wednesday, May 29, the list got updated.
The National Police Service added the Chief Justice, attorney general and the Senate Majority leader to list of VIPs who will be receiving special treatment on roads and highways.
Also added on the list were cabinet secretary for finance and principal secretaries, finance and foreign affairs.
A video has already surfaced on social media on the breach of the law.
