Inter Milan’s Luciano Spalletti shown the door as his replacement is identified

Inter Milan manager, Luciano Spalletti has been shown the door by the club after only two seasons stay and the Italian club expected to replace him with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

Spalletti had a contract until 2021, after joining the side in 2016 June and leading them into the Champions League for the first time in six years in the first of his two seasons.

“Inter Milan can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer head coach of the first team,” the club said in a statement while still thanking hi for the contributions he has had for the club.

“The club wishes to thank Spalletti for his work and the results achieved together.”

The Nerazzurri have already lined up former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte as a replacement, according to ports reports back in Italy.

“FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer head coach of the first team,” they said in a statement.

It had been reported with rumours circulating around earlier this month that a deal between Inter and Conte who has been out of the tunnel since being sent away by Chelsea last July was close to being agreed.

This year his side finished fourth in Serie A and were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage by Atalanta who has qualified for the Champions League for the first time in history.

The Italian, who has been away from management since being sacked by Chelsea in July 2018, will sign a three-year contract with Inter and the 49-year-old is expected to attend the Champions League final between Tottenham and Liverpool on June 1 with CEO Beppe Marotta and president Steven Zhang.

It could be only a matter of time before they appoint Antonio Conte which will probably intensity Lukaku rumours who has since expressed his desire to join the Italian giants as his stay seems dull at Trafford.
