Barely a week after a seven-year old boy was found held hostage in Kawangware, police have reported yet another rescue of a 4-year-old from Utawala.
The girl was found in Athi River. She was abducted from her parents in Utawala on May 24, with her kidnappers claiming Sh1 million ransom.
Police nabbed a male and female suspect, who were arrested outside a petrol station where they were waiting for the ransom before they could free the girl.
Officers from Special Crimes Prevention Unit staged the rescue operation and later declared the girl was in a stable condition.
The two suspects are expected in court.
Head of Special Crimes Prevention Unit Pius Gitari said they were investigating to establish if there were other parties involved in the latest incident.
