Jambojet Kenya has acquired a three-year licensing deal which allows the company to operate in seven more regional destinations.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority(KCAA) granted the regional low-cost carrier the license thus boosting its market to ten countries from the original three.
The licenses allow Jambojet to fly to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Dar-es-Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza (Tanzania), Kigali (Rwanda), Jubba, Hargeisa, Mogadishu (Somalia), Goma, Kisangani (Democratic Republic of Congo), Moroni (Union of the Comoros) and Lilongwe and Blantyre (Malawi) from the hub at JKIA.
“This is an application we make to KCAA every year on the routes we intend to operate as we look to continue increasing our presence in the African region. Once we receive the required rights to each of this destination and are ready to begin operations,” said Jambojet CEO, Mr. Allan Kilavuka.
Currently, the airline flies to three African destinations namely Entebbe, Uganda, Blantyre, Malawi and Bujumbura, Burundi.
Since its inception in 2015, the airline is said to have transported over 2.5 million passengers both in its local and international routes totalling to a 17percent increase in profit.
Jambojet appointed Mr.Allan Kilavuka as its Chief Executive Officer in January 2019 and since then the company has enjoyed tremendous growth in income and profit.
