With AFCON just around the corner, Harambee Stars coach Sebastian Migne is taking no chances with his squad, his players, and his revolutionary coaching tactics.
Indeed, it’s been over 14 years since the glorious Harambee Stars had the opportunity to grace the auspicious AFCON tournament. And despite their poor performance last time around, Migne is looking to return the national team to glorious winning ways.
Migne has certainly focused his exploits on the Stars midfield setup. Indeed, he has employed the likes of Francis Kahata as well as Sweden-based Eric Johanna- who is expected to showcase his prominence in the team’s creative role in the center of the park.
Let’s not forget that Kahata will be joined with other foreign-based players in the center with the likes of Musa Mohammed and Clifton Miheso
Kenya is no doubt in one of the toughest groups in the competition, facing continent giants such as Algeria and Senegal.
Indeed, the Stars will have to dig deep to be able to cause an upset and oust either Senegal or Algeria for the top two spots.
Nevertheless, the likes of Kahata are confident that with Migne’s guidance, the team can proceed further, and perhaps even make it to the semi-finals of the competition!
“Everybody is saying we will be facing seasoned sides (in Egypt) but I say every team is beatable,” the Gor Mahia midfielder said.
“When you get into any match thinking ‘we are here to limit the damage’ then you are done. We have to believe we will do something and at least progress to the next stage after the groups,” he added.
