Former Citizen TV anchor cum actress Joey Muthengi has alleged inked a lucrative deal with Kenyans Business tycoon Chris Kirubi.
In November 2018, she handed her former employer Royal Media Service her resignation letter after she was summoned for a disciplinary action for taking part in a Betin advert which rivals that of her former employer, Shabiki.
Through a post on her Instagram, she revealed the email she received from Voice of America (VoA) notifying her of the job offer.
“Joey, English to Africa Service, Voice of America has an urgent job request for you, please review on pay desk and accept or decline ASAP,” read the email.
She revealed that VOA was where she completed her first internship when she was in college.
Between 2011-2014, Joey served as the 1st ever Kenyan VJ (Video Jockey) for the South-African based music channel Channel O where she represented Kenyan music, entertainment, and culture to the rest of the continent.
In 2013 she hosted Season 6 of the largest reality music show in East Africa ‘Tusker Project Fame’, on Citizen TV having previously been involved with the franchise on ‘Tusker All Stars’ which aired in 2011.
