While the 2022 succession politics is gaining momentum, politicians are aligning themselves to presidential hopefulls for 2022.
Deputy President William Ruto whose political arena has been the most controversial is about to experience another exit from his a vocal MP in from the Western region.
South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro noted that she has been insulted several times over association with Tanga tanga movement and hence she is planning to dump the movement soon.
“It has not been well ever since I joined the movement. I wish to assure voters that I may after all dump the group so that I concentrate on my work as MP,” Osoro said.
Mr Osoro, who is serving his first term as MP after successfully being elected on Kenya National Congress (KNC) Party ticket, said locals should not perceive him as an enemy.
“Once I dump Tangatanga movement, I don’t know what excuse my rivals will have since they have been taking advantage of me because of my association with the group.”
Osoro was speaking on Monday at Tabaka when he hosted Mining Cabinet Secretary John Munyes and other Kisii elected leaders during a soapstone stakeholders meeting.
Across Gusii, Osoro has been leading pro-Ruto campaigns, a move that has seen him isolated by a section of his constituents.
Recently , he defended Ruto claiming that his impeachment is impossible and that Ruto should not be impeached alone.
Osoro is not the only politician from the camp that is planning to quit the movement, one Rashid Echesa the former CS for sports is as well being alleged of being in a mission to make peace with Opposition Chief Raila Odinga, a man he declared and swore he will never call baba, a man he even dared to sack him.
Sources privy to the happenings around Echesa have revealed that the former CS has been sending emissaries to Raila to help him end their long standing Political rivalry.
It is claimed that Echesa has realized that his strong association with Ruto was creating a big negative impact on his political star. Echesa is apparently worried of the constant tribulations he has been facing following his close political relationship with the DP.
The former ODM Youth wing leader is said to be even planning to ditch Ruto given that his association with the DP has given him nothing but problem after problem.
‘’If supporting you to be re-elected for the second time is the mistake that I did, I want you Mr President to find a place in your heart and forgive me. If supporting William Ruto could be the cause, I better be told. Supporting Ruto not a matter of death but I need to find my peace’’. Said Echesa
