Bungoma County Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati has revealed the major reason that is contributing to corruption in the healthcare sector.
Speaking on Citizen TV’s Day Break show on Monday morning, the first time county chief said that o.ne of the reasons as to why there is a lot of corruption in healthcare is non-collection of revenue generated.
He said the Council of Governors has been very concerned about the health sector. He further noted that “a road can wait but you cannot wait for good healthcare”.

Wangamati further cited that the biggest problem the country has is corruption, citing that it is not about how much the government is spending on the wage bill.

Universal healthcare is one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s big four agenda. The head of state launched the pilot phase of the project on is tour to Kisumu early this year.
