Drama as Raila Publicly Disagrees with his Brother over 2022 Politics

RAILA Odinga will vie for the PRESIDENCY in 2022, 2027 and beyond, Mutahi NGUNYI now warns

With 2022 political landscape already taking shape, different presidential Aspirants are busy laying strategies on how to counter their political opponents.

Despite this, opposition Chief Raila Odinga has remained mum over his 2022 ambitions leaving many speculations among his supporters. The recent remarks by his older brother Oburu Odinga over the Weekend left many tongues wagging with reports that the former Prime Minister was going to run for Presidency in 2022.

But on Sunday, while speaking during the burial of Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito’s brother said Rubbished his brother’s reports saying that he has never talked about his plans for 2022.

Mr. Raila Odinga reiterated that Kenyans should ignore Oburu’s comments suggesting that he will take another stab for the presidency. The former Prime Minister cautioned Kenyans to treat Dr. Oburu’s remarks as his personal views.

“Those are Oburu’s personal views. I have not talked about 2022,” said Odinga.

Oburu had earlier on told off those who argued Raila is old while urging his supporters not to lose hope. He observed that former prime minister is still very young and energetic and should therefore not be ruled out in the next presidential race.

Speaking in Kitutu Chache North, Kisii county, during the burial of David Ombati on Saturday, May 25, Oburu who is a member of the East Africa legislative Assembly (EALA) urged ODM supporters not to lose hope because it is not over yet for the Opposition chief.

“Kwa maoni yangu naona Raila bado anatosha tu. Yeye ako na nguvu nyingi…Wanaseme Raila ni mzee, ni mzee namna gani na Uhuru bado hajazeeka? Kwa hivyo mambo bado, na msikufe moyo ( In my opinion Raila is still energetic enough.

But Raila insisted on Sunday that he is yet to make his 2022 ambitions public and therefore Kenyans should not be driven into 2022 succession debates as he was busy helping president Uhuru Kenyatta build deliver on his big 4 Agenda.

“I have not said it anywhere that I will be in the race in 2022. Oburu talked about it, and I have told him about my stand,” Odinga said.

He explained that he had reached an agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta not to discuss 2022 succession politics.

Raila Odinga has kept his 2022 political ambitions at bay since he shook hands with President Uhuru in March 2018. Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has on many occasions insisted that Raila Odinga will be on the ballot come 2022 until the time his ambitions are met.

“And he will also run in 2022, 2027 and continue running until thy kingdom come. And this kind of disease can only be cured through dialogue in NASA and not dialogue nationally,” Ngunyi stated in the past.
